A system (1) for limiting the growth of creeper plants (2) on an upright surface (3), comprising:- a voltage generator (100) comprising a ground terminal (101) and a voltage terminal (102)- a conductive stopping element (200) positioned on said upright surface (3) and adapted to be connected to said voltage terminal (102) thereby obtaining a growth limiting boundary for said creeper plants (2) and- a grounding element (300) positioned on said upright surface (3) and adapted to be connected to said ground terminal (101), thereby providing a grounding of said upright surface (3)CHARACTERIZED IN THAT:said grounding element (300) is positioned such that said grounding element (300) grounds said creeper plants (2) by contact with said creeper plants (2) within a distance of a hundred centimetres from said conductive stopping element (200).
