PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable authentication by using a part of an authentication code, the part consisting of the least possible digits among all the digits of the authentication code.SOLUTION: A corridor lamp 3 is provided with: a code storage unit 22 for storing a fist code consisting of a part of the digits of an authentication code (e.g., the uppermost digit) and a second code consisting of digits of a combination different from the part of the digits (e.g., the last three digits) a first authentication processing unit 24 for authenticating a medical worker by using a code of the uppermost digit of the authentication code read from an IC card 10 and the first code and a second authentication processing unit 25 for authenticating a patient by using a code of the last three digits of the authentication code read from the IC card 10 and the second code.
