The technical result, which is achieved in implementing the claimed invention, consists in creating a new composition that possesses the properties of a therapeutic cosmetic agent by means of using bacteriorhodopsin as the active component of the cosmetic agent in the comprehensive treatment of dermatoses and/or in the care of normal skin by disclosing new specific biological features of bacteriorhodopsin of the halophilic bacteria Halobacterium salinarum VKPM V-11850.
