There is provided a method of delivering a drug in a locally controlled manner to a patient ' s semen, prostate, appendix or vaginal tube for therapeutic purposes. In one embodiment, the method comprises transplanting a reabsorbable drug delivery device into the patient ' s seminal vesicle, prostate, appendix or vaginal canal. The drug delivery device may comprise an elastic device body for containing at least one drug reservoir for storing at least one drug.
