The insulative resin has a thermal conductivity of not less than 8 W/mK.The image pickup device can be used in an endoscope (10) which also includes an image pickup optical system (50), a drive circuit (80), a light guide (90), a forceps opening (56) and a tubular body (66) for accommodating these parts. A second insulative resin (116) having a thermal conductivity of not less than 8 W/mK, can thermally couple the image pickup device with the drive circuit.
