To provide an apparatus for assisting repair or replacement of a biological valve, and more particularly to provide a device suitable for a heart valve such as a mitral valve and a tricuspid valve.An apparatus and method are disclosed for performing a procedure on a heart valve, wherein the material loop is configured to contact at least a portion of an annulus or leaflet of a valve. A plurality of anchors are configured to be distributed around the loop and implanted anteriorly into the annulus or leaflet. The anchor is configured to resist rearward withdrawal. A plurality of link members are secured to the material loop and at least a portion of each link member passes through the slots of each anchor so that the link member can slide relative to the slot. The anchor is then implanted in the annulus or leaflet. The loop can then be used to hold a replacement valve or to tighten the annulus.
