A calibrating system for three dimensional scanning includes an object-penetrating scanning machine having a light emitting device, a sensor, and a calibrating object positioned between the light emitting device and the sensor. Moreover, an object-appearance capturing unit in addition to the light emitting device is disposed in opposite to the sensor. The object-penetrating scanning machine forms an object-penetrating image on the sensor, and a first coordination system is constructed based on the object-penetrating image. The object-appearance capturing unit captures an object-appearance image, and a second coordination system is constructed based on the object-appearance image.
