The main difference between our machine and the existing machines i.e. hand operated is that these machines need to be operated by using one hand to hold the sugarcane and another hand to operate the lever for cutting, but our machine cuts the sugarcane by the cutter which reciprocates by operating the pedals situated near the operators legs and his both the hands on the sugarcane which provides a greater accuracy in cutting the sugarcane bud. So, the time consumed is less. Also in this machine, we have used removable blades so even if they get worn out only the blade has to be replaced not the whole cutter unlike the second existing motor operated machine where the whole cutter has to be replaced. The biades are straight, there is no need to rotate the sugarcane by the operator as the whole section of the eye is removed. The material used for blades is high-speed steel so the strength is more as compared to that of cast iron, stainless steel.
