A medical hand and arm protection apparatus and method of protection comprising a protective shell which is capable of receiving a patients hand and arm. A sheet is attached to the protective shell, which is tucked under the patient to anchor the hand and arm protector in place. The protective shell also has one or more perforations that allow the medical professional access to the interior of the surgical arm protector to view the patients IV sites and other medical equipment attached to the patients hand or arm.
