PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaning device for a clean room, which provides an excellent cleaning effect.SOLUTION: A filling material 12 with a hydrophilic property, which allows to-be-treated air to pass through as an upward stream, while the air makes contact with the material, and which also retains cleaning water, is arranged inside a filling tower 11 through which the to-be-treated air passes. The filling material retains the cleaning water by spraying the cleaning water from above the filling material by a cleaning water supply mechanism 20. Then, the to-be-treated air is cleaned by allowing the to-be-treated air to pass through the filling tower, while having contact with the filling material, and allowing contamination substances to be dissolved in the cleaning water retained in the filling material. The filling material is made by alternately laminating molded fabrics which are obtained by heat-sealing a fabric material made of polyester and a mesh material made of polypropylene, and spacers which are obtained by molding the mesh material made of polypropylene into a waveform, wherein the molded fabrics and the spacers are vertically postured inside the filling tower. The waveform formed in the spacers gives a horizontal transverse wave. The cleaning water supply mechanism is configured to supply the cleaning water containing ozone water.
