PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system capable of securing appropriate flexural rigidity of an insertion section, while retaining a slide length of the endoscope insertion section.SOLUTION: The endoscope system includes an endoscope, and an insertion aid 50 in which the endoscope is inserted and which assists insertion of an endoscope insertion section 12 into a body. A balloon is provided at the distal end side of the tube body of the insertion aid 50. A soft part 36 of the endoscope insertion section 12 includes a projection area 70 that, when the endoscope insertion section 12 is located at a distal position in a forward/backward movable range of the insertion aid 50 with respect to a tube body, projects from a distal opening 56 of the tube body.
