The apparatus (1) comprises: an enclosed vessel (2) for holding the food product, the vessel (2) having a first end wall (4), a second end wall (5) opposite to the first end wall (4), and a side wall (6a, 6b) between the first and second end walls (4, 5)； a first agitator (11) rotatably mounted to the first end wall (4), the first agitator (11) extending inside the vessel (2) towards the second end wall (5)； and a second agitator (13) rotatably mounted to the second end wall (5), the second agitator (13) extending inside the vessel (2) towards the first end wall (4).
