The technology comprises steps of pretreatment of algae, extraction of the fucoxanthin, and purification of fucoxanthin. The technology provided by the present invention solves the problems of low purity and solvent residues of the extracted fucoxanthin in the prior art. Furthermore, the technology provided by the present invention has a low cost and a high efficiency due to the high accessibility of raw materials employed in the technology suggested by the present invention, solvent recyclibility, high yield, reusable purification materials and simple extraction and purification procedures, thereby laying the foundation for the industrial production of fucoxanthin-related products.
