PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the thickness of pulp fibers contained in an absorber as a technique for reducing the thickness in order to improve wearing comfort, or to use a highly absorbent polymer material as a non-woven fabric without using pulp fibers. It has been practiced to sandwich and make sheets. However, due to the thinning, gel blocking by a highly absorbent polymer material (also referred to as SAP) is likely to occur during liquid absorption. If gel blocking progresses excessively, the absorption performance may deteriorate and liquid return (wetback) may easily occur. The present invention provides a non-woven fabric for an absorbent article that can achieve both a thin absorber and a reduction in liquid return in the absorbent article. SOLUTION: A non-woven fabric for an absorbent article, which is hydrophilic and contains a layer of long fibers having an average fiber diameter of 1 μm or less.
