Such a surface treatment may provide an uneven texture that is configured to interlock with adjoining bone and/or an uneven texture on another implant, such as an augment for an acetabular cup for revision hip surgery. At least one of the uneven texture of the cup bone-facing surface and the uneven texture of the augment cup-facing surface may include a web of rods.
