A method for inducing an individual to a sleep state using binaural acoustic tones. The method comprises positioning a sensor on the individual to detect electrical activity of the brain and changes in motion. The method comprises applying a suggestive binaural tone frequency to adjust the current activity state to an intermediate goal state, which is interposed between the current activity state and a goal state. In response to the suggestive binaural tone changing the current activity state toward the intermediate goal state, the intermediate goal state is iteratively adjusted toward the goal state. Upon achieving the goal state of the brain, the application of the suggestive binaural tones ceases to enable the individual to enter and maintain a restful sleep cycle naturally.
