Provided is a method of preparing hydrophobic porous silica, the method comprising: reacting a porous silica particle containing a hydrophilic group in a solvent with an organosilane compound under a basic catalyst； and drying the porous silica particle in a vacuum； in which the surface of the porous silica particles is modified to be hydrophobic by a condensation reaction of the hydrophilic group of the porous silica particles with the organosilane compound.
