The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an air purifying material, and a personal air purifying apparatus using the air purifying material, in which the air purifying material is manufactured by mixing predetermined weights of titanium dioxide, a rare-earth element containing thorium, and the like, and mechanically alloying the mixture, and the prepared air purifying material is allowed to absorb UV rays, thereby generating anions and selectively operating a dust-proof mode and a woods bathing mode.
