PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present an image without distortion by carrying out distortion correction with respect to a reference pattern corresponding to a visual angle.
SOLUTION: The apparatuses includes a reference pattern setting section 13 for setting a reference pattern that corresponds to a visual angle displayed on an image display section 1 with an arbitrary curved surface, an image projecting section 2 for projecting an image on the image display section 1 by carrying out predetermined distortion correction treatment on inputted image data showing the reference pattern, a correction parameter calculation section 12 for calculating a parameter for carrying out distortion correction treatment on the image data on the basis of positional parameters of the image display section 1 and the image projecting section, the shape of the image display section 1, the field angle of the image projecting section 2 and the viewpoint location of an observer, a projecting position measurement section 16 for measuring the position of the image projecting section 2, and a correction parameter updating and calculating section 14 for updating the correction parameter using the position of the projecting section 2.
