#$%^&*AU2013200547A120130228.pdf#####Abstract One embodiment of the invention provides a fluid valve assembly for use with a pumping device to purge air or liquid from a powered injection system. The valve assembly includes a valve holder or cover, an elastomeric valve, and a valve body or housing. The assembly also includes a first input port, a second input port, and an output port. In this embodiment, the first input port is coupled to the valve holder and both the second input port and the output port are coupled to the valve body. In one embodiment, the first input port is aligned along a first axis that is substantially tangential to the valve body. This configuration allows fluid that is injected into and through the first input port to be injected tangentially into and through the valve body and out of the output port. With this design, the valve assembly provides for an efficient and effective way of purging air (e.g., air bubbles) from the assembly.
