Because animals tend to push feed away from themselves as they eat, a wide-spread problem in livestock barns which lack a physical barrier between the animal manger and the adjacent alley way is that feed must be constantly pushed back up in front of animals. Comprised of a retention wall, a series of structural ribs, pivot connections, mounting brackets, vertical support members, and a winch and pulley system; this invention is a mechanical or manually operated apparatus that addresses said problem by providing a lightweight retractable barrier system that can be lowered in front of animals when needed to retain feed, then lifted via cables and winch system in order to provide an unobstructed floor space in order to both feed livestock and clean mangers with the full benefit of a same-level feed manger and alley system.
