A cosmetic composition for the temporary shaping of keratinic fibres, comprising: a) at least one non-crosslinked, hydrophobically modified (meth)acrylic acid copolymer, such as acrylates/C10-30-alkyl methacrylate copolymer, and b) at least one copolymer formed from at least one monomer (b1) selected from acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, acrylic acid alkyl esters； and at least one amphoteric monomer (b2) of formula (I) wherein R1 is H or CH3, R2 and R3 are independently optionally branched C1-10 alkyl and n is 1-20, for example methacryloyl ethyl betaine/ acrylates copolymer. The proportion by weight of copolymer a) is 0.1-15%. The proportion by weight of copolymer b) is 0.1-10%. The composition may further comprise 0.1-10% polyvinylpyrrolidones and/or vinylpyrrolidone/vinyl acetate copolymer and at least 20% water. A method for the temporary deformation of keratin-containing fibres in which the keratin containing fibres are acted upon by the composition of the invention and temporarily fixed in their shape.
