PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical guide wire which has enhanced restoration properties of a leading end part from U-shaped bending, thereby preventing the development of the U-shaped bending of the guide wire during use of the guide wire.SOLUTION: A guide wire 1 includes: a core shaft 2 having a leading end part reduced in diameter； an outside flexible pipe 4 surrounding the outer periphery of the core shaft 2； and an inside flexible pipe 5 surrounding the leading end part of the core shaft 2 inside the outside flexible pipe 4. In order that the gap between the outside flexible pipe 4 and the inside flexible pipe 5 extends toward the leading end, the inside flexible pipe 5, in the outer diameter thereof, is tapered or becomes thin in stages toward the leading end.
