PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planting apparatus having simple structure and free from the seedling damaging troubles. SOLUTION: A medium holding cylinder 3 and a medium pressing cylinder 5 are attached respectively to the 1st and the 2nd supporting tables 2, 4 held with a robot arm 1. Medium holding claws 6a, 6b are attached to the cylinder shaft of the medium holding cylinder 3 and the claws are swiftly protruded by the action of the medium holding cylinder 3 and thrust into a medium block 21a near its right and left side faces. A medium-pressing plate 7 is attached to the cylinder shaft 5a of the medium pressing cylinder 5 which presses a side face of the medium block 21a and positions the block according to the action of the medium pressing cylinder 5. The side face of the positioned medium block 21a is thrust and held with the medium holding claws 6a, 6b, and the block 21a is transferred with the robot arm 1 to the planting position to effect the fixed planting of a seedling.
