PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray diagnostic apparatus, capable of restricting lowering of brightness of image data.SOLUTION: The apparatus includes an X-ray radiation part 10 to radiate an X-ray to a subject P placed on a top plate 18, an X-ray detection part 14 to detect the X-ray transmitted through the subject P to generate X-ray projection data, an image data generating part 25 to generate image data based on the X-ray projection data generated by the X-ray detection part 14, and a leg detection part 35 to detect leg data representing the legs of the subject P contained in the image data generated by the image data generating part 25, and an X-ray control part 42 to control a high voltage generating part 41 to drive radiation of the X-ray radiation part 10.
