595986 The present specification relates to methods for producing particles of indomethacin by dry milling indomethacin, a facilitating agent and a millable grinding matrix in a mill comprising a plurality of milling bodies. Also, compositions comprising indomethacin, medicaments produced using indomethacin in particulate form and/or compositions, and to methods of treatment of an animal, including man, using a therapeutically effective amount of indomethacin administered by way of said medicaments are disclosed. Said particles having an average particle size is equal to or less than 2000nm and wherein the total combined amount of biologically active material and grinding matrix in the mill at any given time is selected from the group consisting of: 200 grams, 500 grams, 1 kg, 2kg, 5 kg, 10 kg, 20 kg, 30 kg, 50 kg, 75 kg, 100 kg, 150 kg, 200 kg, 500 kg, 1000 kg, 1500kg and 2000 kg. Exemplary compositions include compositions comprising milling matrices and facilitating agents such as the following together with indomethacin: sodium lauryl sulfate, tartaric acid, lactose, talc, kaolin, microcrystalline cellulose, xylitol, sodium chloride, glucose, sucrose and mannitol.
