An HIV vaccine comprises an HIV nucleic acid sequence that has been mutated to change one or more AGG sequences to a non-AGG sequence. A viral vaccine comprises a nucleic acid sequence with fewer AGG than a wild-type virus. An HIV vaccine comprises an HIV nucleic acid sequence with fewer AGG sequences than the wild-type HIV.
