A method of conjugating a PNAG that is less than 35% N-acetylated to a transporter protein, comprising the steps of: a) activating the PNAG by adding a linker comprising a maleimide group selected from the group consisting of BMPS, EMCS, GMBS, MBS, LC-SMCC, SMCC, SMPB, SMPH, Sulfo-EMCS, Sulfo-MBS, Sulfo-SMCC, Sulfo-GMBS and Sulfo-SMPB, to form an activated PNAG； b) activating the transporter protein by adding a linker comprising a sulfhydryl group having a spacer length of 10-25 Angstroms, to form an activated transporter protein； and c) reacting the activated PNAG and the activated transporter protein to form a conjugated PNAG transporter protein.Un procedimiento de conjugación de una PNAG que está menos del 35 % N-acetilada a una proteína transportadora, que comprende las etapas de: a) activar la PNAG añadiendo un enlazador que comprende un grupo maleimida seleccionado del grupo que consiste en BMPS, EMCS, GMBS, MBS, LC-SMCC, SMCC, SMPB, SMPH, Sulfo-EMCS, Sulfo-MBS, Sulfo- SMCC, Sulfo-GMBS y Sulfo-SMPB, para formar una PNAG activada； b) activar la proteína transportadora añadiendo un enlazador que comprende un grupo sulfhidrilo que tiene una longitud de espaciador de 10-25 Angstroms, para formar una proteína transportadora activada； y c) hacer reaccionar la PNAG activada y la proteína transportadora activada para formar un conjugado de PNAGproteína transportadora.
