A subject matter of the present invention is a composition for topical application comprising hydrophobic silica aerogel particles and at least one clay. Another subject matter of the invention is a method for the cosmetic treatment of keratinous substances which consists in applying, to the keratinous substances, a composition as defined above, and also the use of this composition in the cosmetic or dermatological field and in particular for caring for, protecting and/or making up the skin of the body or face or for caring for the hair. The composition of the invention makes it possible to obtain a uniform and pleasant application of the product without the appearance of little balls at the various stages of use of the product, whether during application, during drying or during removal, when a cleansing product is concerned (such as a wash-off mask).La présente invention concerne une composition pour application topique comprenant des particules d'aérogel de silice hydrophobes et au moins une argile. La composition de l'invention permet d'obtenir une application uniforme et plaisante du produit sans apparition de petites billes à divers stades d'utilisation du produit, que ce soit pendant l'application, pendant le séchage ou pendant l'élimination, lorsqu'il s'agit d'un produit nettoyant (comme un masque gommant).
