FIELD: biotechnology.SUBSTANCE: disclosed is isolated or substantially purified heparan sulphate HS8, wherein said HS8 is specifically and with high affinity to bind to a polypeptide consisting of the amino acid sequence YCKNGGF (SEQ ID NO: 2) and having from 0 to 20 additional amino acids on one or both ends of said amino acid sequence SEQ ID NO: 2, wherein said substantially purified heparan sulphate HS8 contains at least 80 % HS8, wherein said heparan sulphate HS8 has a certain disaccharide composition. Disclosed are a composition for enhancing stem cell proliferation, a pharmaceutical composition for tissue repair or regeneration by enhancing the proliferation of stem cells, as well as a culture medium for enhancing stem cell proliferation, containing an effective amount of said HS8. Disclosed are methods of treating a disease, condition or tissue injury in a patient by enhancing stem cell proliferation, a method of treating bone fracture in a patient using said HS8. Disclosed is a biocompatible implant or prosthesis comprising a biomaterial and said HS8, as well as a method for production thereof. Disclosed is a method of stem cell culturing in vitro, a method of enriching colony-forming units (CFU-F) of mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) culture, as well as a method of increasing growth factor stability using said HS8.EFFECT: group of inventions enables to obtain heparan sulphate HS8, capable of providing effective proliferation of MSC without loss of pluripotency/multipotency thereof and slow down the degradation of FGF2 compared to the untreated initial Celsus HS or HS8-ve, which can be used for repair and/or regeneration of various tissues, in cases when intensification of stem cell proliferation will have a favourable effect.30 cl, 52 dwg, 19 exГруппа изобретений относится к области биотехнологии.
