PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner capable of safely and comfortably enhancing an air cleaning function by automatically changing the direction and intensity of air feeding.SOLUTION: An air cleaner includes: a housing 2 in which a suction and exhaust port 3 is formed at each of its upper part and lower part a flow passage 14 formed inside the housing 2 and connecting a suction and exhaust port 3a of the upper part and a suction exhaust port 3b of the lower part an electric dust collector 6 disposed inside the flow passage 14 and a fan 7 provided inside the flow passage 14 and enabling forward-reverse switching of an air feeding direction. The air cleaner executes an operation of suctioning air from the suction and exhaust port 3a and blowing out the air from the suction and exhaust port 3b of the lower part, and an operation of suctioning air from the suction and exhaust port 3b of the lower part and blowing out the air from the suction and exhaust port 3a of the upper part.
