Provided herein are methods of culturing microorganisms. The method includes preparing a container comprising one or more microorganisms and a medium, wherein the microorganism and the medium form a starting amount. The microorganism and the culture medium are cultured until the culture reaches the limit indicator and the culturing involves feeding one or more carbon sources into the culture and the culture is at a limit when reaching the limit indicator.
