Disclosed is a granulate of gamma-hydroxybutyric acid or one of its pharmaceutically acceptable salts, comprising a solid core on which is supported the gamma-hydroxybutyric or one of its salts. Further disclosed is a method of preparation of said granulate comprising a step of application by powdering the gamma-hydroxybutyric acid on a solid particulate support. Also disclosed is the use of said granulate in the manufacture of a medicament for use in the treatment of catalepsy in narcoleptic patients, or for use in weaning from alcohol.
