The purposes of this invention are: to provide a water-based pigment liquid dispersion having excellent stability over time and excellent light resistance, and a production method therefor; and to provide a coloring composition, an ink composition, and an ink composition for inkjet recording using the water-based pigment liquid dispersion, and an inkjet recording method using the ink composition for inkjet recording. This water-based pigment liquid dispersion is characterized by: containing at least an azo pigment represented by formula 1 and/or a tautomer thereof, a first dispersing agent, a second dispersing agent, and water; and by being obtained via step b. Step b: a step for dispersing, in water, the azo pigment represented by formula 1 and/or the tautomer thereof, the first dispersing agent, and the second dispersing agent to obtain the water-based pigment dispersion liquid.
