A fluid applicator system comprises an applicator device for applying a topical antiseptic fluid to an area of a subject’s skin, and a storage device. The applicator device may include a handle with a proximate end and a distal end. A base may be coupled to the proximate end of the handle, and a substantially hydrophilic foam may be coupled to the base. An end piece may be coupled to the distal end of the handle, and at least one abrasion layer may be coupled to the substantially hydrophilic foam. The storage device may include a wall and a bottom surface that defines a chamber therebetween.
