PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a repellent which has a sufficient repellent effect against mites, is highly safe for the human body, and can be easily used in general households. A repellent for mites containing an aromatic ketone compound consisting of acetophenone, propiophenone and butyrophenone as an active ingredient, and a repelling method for mites using the repellent. Further, the repellent method is characterized by releasing the mite repellent into the environment, and is carried out by natural evaporation, heat evaporation, fumigation, or spraying.
