The present invention refers to a refrigerator including a heat-insulating main body which is made of a heat-insulating material and has a storage compartment formed inside, a door which is provided at an opening of the heat-insulating main body in a manner which allows opening and closing, a cooling unit which cools air in the heat-insulating main body to generate cool air, and a cool-air circulation path along which the cool air circulates between the storage compartment and the cooling unit, said refrigerator comprising, in the cool-air circulation path: a support which supports a photocatalyst and an irradiation unit configured to irradiate said support with excitation light which excites the photocatalyst, wherein (a) said support is provided in a part in the cool-air circulation path where a flow direction of the cool air turns, and is arranged so that a flow direction of the cool air flowing toward said support is parallel to a normal line to a larger face of said support, or (b) said support is tabular and disposed so that a normal line to a larger face of said support intersects with a flow direction of the cool air.
