PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical instrument or endoscope having a structure smoothly storing an insertion part in a storage case with an improved storage property and only with the rotation around the axis of insertion of the insertion part when a rotative self-running slender insertion part is automatically and compactly stored in the storage case.
SOLUTION: A storage part, in which at least part of the uninserted portion of the insertion part 3 is stored, comprises the storage case 2 formed in the height direction H a spiral groove 4 formed along the height direction H clockwise R1 as the storage case 2 is seen from the upper face for freely fitting the insertion part 3 a return port for the insertion part 3 formed on the upper face of the storage case 2 and a driving member for advancing/retracting the insertion part 3 removed from a region for insertion while rotating the insertion part. The driving member is characterized by fitting the insertion part 3 into the spiral groove 4 while rotating the insertion part counterclockwise R2 as the storage case 2 is seen from the upper face side.
