FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: body weight index (BWI) is calculated. A radioisotope preparation is administered parenterally. Above a projection of the liver, γ-particle count is measured over a period of time until the statistical maximum is reached. A time from the beginning of the study to the moment of reaching the maximum threshold γ-particle accumulation (Tmax) is determined. A hepatocyte functional activity index (HFAI) is determined by the claimed formula. The HFAI value is used to state the hepatic health. If the HFAI ranges from 0 to 9.9, the normal functional activity of hepatocytes is stated. If the HFAI is from 10 to 19.9, the risk of functional disorders is observed. Reversible functional disorders of hepatocytes (fatty hepatosis) is stated if the HFAI is from 20 to 29.9. The HFAI of more than 30 states that the patient suffers from irreversible organic hepatic disorders (steatohepatitis, cirrhosis).
