The present invention relates to an ultraviolet (UV) light source and a bug trap using the same, and more specifically, to a UV light source and a bug trap using the same, the UV light source capable of facilitating attachment/detachment thereof and providing an effect of a flat light source without an optical configuration such as a diffusion plate while using a small number of UV light emitting diodes (LED). According to the present invention, a bug trap comprises: a trap unit (90) to trap bugs lured by UV light a light source installation unit (80) installed by being separated from the upper part of the trap unit and a light source (1) installed in the light source installation unit to emit the UV light, so as to lure bugs. The light source (1) is installed in the light source installation unit (80) such that the central axis (o) of a light emitting direction of the UV LED (20) is downwardly directed, and a conversion unit is installed in the front side of the UV emitting direction of the UV LED (20) to convert the downwardly directed emitting direction of the UV light to a side direction.
