The extraction unit extracts a vertebral body region from a medical image captured during an operation. The volume calculation unit calculates a first volume of a vertebral body targeted for treatment by percutaneous vertebroplasty, on the basis of the extracted vertebral body region. The volume estimation unit estimates a second volume of the targeted vertebral body in a normal state, on the basis of the extracted vertebral body region.
