A method of processing cross-sectional post contrast images such as tomography CT images. The method comprises obtaining a first cross-sectional post contrast image 20 of at least part of a body such as the brain. The first cross-sectional post contrast image represents a first time point. A second cross-sectional post contrast image 22 of the at least part of the body is also obtained. The second cross-sectional post contrast image represents a second time point which is different from the first time point. A first difference image 24 is generated using the first and second cross-sectional post contrast images 20, 22. The first difference image highlights any differences between the first and second cross-sectional post contrast images. Alternatively a third post contrast image taken at a third time point and subtracted from the 1st post contrast image to produce another difference image and creating an addition image by adding the first and another difference images.
