Disclosed is a corrosion-resistant electrotransport drug delivery device. The device comprises an electrical module (20) and a reservoir module (30). The electrical module (20) and the reservoir module (30) are configured to be combined to form a unitary and activated drug delivery device prior to use. The device resists corrosion by electrically isolating a circuitry in the electrical module (20) from a power source. The electrical module comprises the circuitry (248), an electrical output and at least two power-on contacts (218) between the circuitry and a battery (290). The electrical output is adapted to connect the circuitry to an input connector on the reservoir module (30) when the electrical module (20) is combined with the reservoir module (30). The battery (290) is isolated from the circuitry (248) by the power-on contacts (218) while at least one of the power-on contacts (218) remain open and the battery (290) is connected into the circuitry (248) when all of the power-on contacts (218) are closed by battery contact actuators on the reservoir module (30) when the electrical module (20) and the reservoir module (30) are combined. The reservoir module (30) comprises an electrical input and at least two battery contact actuators (318). The electrical input adapted to electrically connect the circuitry (248) in the electrical module (20) to at least a pair of active electrodes in the reservoir module (30) when the electrical module (20) is combined with the reservoir module (30). The at least two battery contact actuators (318) are configured to close a corresponding power-on contact (218) when the electrical module (20) is combined with the reservoir module (30) so that the battery (290) is connected into the circuitry (248) and the device is powered on. The at least two battery contact actuators (318) are separated from each other.
