The present invention refers to the. design, synthesis and evaluation of a synthetic peptide, which have not been previously described, deduced and designed from the buffalo luteinizing hormone beta subunit nucleotide sequence, and that can be used in the production of polyclonal antibodies. The peptide and antibodies find their use in veterinary-medical diagnostics, therapeutics and sensors. The current invention provides a new route for the generation of polyclonal antibodies having inimuno-reactivity with cow and bubaline (Indian river buffalo Bubalus bubalis) luteinizing hormone. The composition of peptide and polyclonal antibodies can be used as a diagnostic reagent for sensing cow and buffalo luteinizing hormone having high reactivity.
