Disclosed herein are capcycnoid formulations and methods of treatment that can be used to treat / reduce mammalian pain. In general, administration is via infusion for pain relief for extended periods of time in the isolated site. The formulations are administered in a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle. The formulation includes an analgesic in an amount sufficient to reduce the scorching and toning effects of the capsaicinoid administration.
