PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bath apparatus of a new construction capable of dipping the body of a bather sufficiently in the warm water in a bath while reducing the edge height of the bath tub at a bathing time.SOLUTION: A bath apparatus 1 comprises: a bath tub 11 elevating means 13 for elevating up and down a bath tub 11 a stretcher base 18 for going into and out of the inside of the bath tub 11 by the upward and downward lifts of the bath tub 11 tilt means capable of switching the stretcher base 18 into a horizontal posture and an inclined posture and deforming means for deforming a stretcher carried on the stretcher base 18 in association with the posture change of the stretcher base 18 utilizing said tilt means.
