Embodiments of the disclosure encompass compositions and methods for the treatment of medical conditions in which increases in GLP-1 are beneficial to an individual. In specific embodiments, the disclosure concerns certain peptides that are capable of inducing GLP-1 production in an individual with a medical condition, such as type II diabetes or obesity. In other cases, an individual is not obese or overweight but is provided the peptide in an effort to reduce weight from fat.Des modes de réalisation de l'invention concernent des compositions et des méthodes destinées au traitement de pathologies pour lesquelles des augmentations du GLP-1 sont profitables au patient. Dans des modes de réalisation spécifiques, l'invention concerne certains peptides qui sont capables d'induire une production du GLP-1 chez le patient atteint d'une pathologie telle qu'un diabète de type II ou une obésité. Dans d'autres cas, le patient n'est pas obèse ni en surpoids mais le peptide lui est fourni dans le but de faire baisser le poids lié à la masse lipidique.
