PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article, in which deformation on either one side of a front part and a rear part of the absorbent article, if any, has no effect on the other of the front and the rear so as to maintain high fitting performance, and leak protective effect, while providing comfortable fitting feeling.

SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 is a sanitary napkin, provided with a liquid-permeable surface sheet, liquid-impermeable backing sheet, and a liquid holding absorbent material provided between both sheets, and it is formed to be substantially long. The absorbent material has a protruding middle bulky part on the skin abutment side in narrower width than the absorbent material. The middle bulky part includes, as illustrated in figure 1, a front middle bulky part 2 and a rear middle bulky part 3 provided separately on the front part 11 and the rear part 12. Between the front middle bulky part 2 and the rear middle bulky part 3, a bend start point 4 is provided to prevent deformation of the front part 11 and the rear part 12 from affecting each other.
