#$%^&*AU2013200225B220141030.pdf#####Abstract The invention provides formulations comprising an amine oxide, an azole and a compound of formula (I): R1 -A-R 2p Wherein: R- denotes an alkyl group which contains from 6 to 24 carbon atoms, benzyl or 5 substituted benzyl, or (CH 2 -CH 20),H 2 where n = 1-20; A is absent or denotes a linker group that may be C=O or -C=ONH (CH 2 )Hs- where s = 13; P = 2 or 3; and each R2 , which are the same or different, denotes H, CH 3 , C2 H5 , (CH 2 -CH 2 O) H where n = 1-20, an alkyl group which contains from 6 to 24 carbon atoms, (CH 2 )mCOOH, (CH 2 )mCOO, (CHX)mSO3H or (CHX)mSO 3 0 where m = 1 to 3 and X denotes H or OH,; and wherein if the compound is charged it is accompanied by a counterion X. The formulations of the invention are surprisingly effective at protecting wood and other cellulosic substrates, in particular at providing antisapstain activity. The invention also provides methods for treating wood and 5 other cellulosic substrates with said formulations.
