PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an antithrombotic coating material capable of providing a polymer having large molecular weight by a solution polymerization method using a radical polymerization initiator.SOLUTION: The above described problem is solved by a manufacturing method of an antithrombotic coating material including a process of preparing a methanol solution containing a monomer represented by the following general formula (1) and a process for preparing a polymerization reaction liquid by adding a radical polymerization initiator having 10 hrs half-life temperature of 60°C or less to the methanol solution and polymerizing the monomer.
